24 December 3 - 16, 2011 Fashionistas take runway at Perry

Original designs by students in the Fashion Design and Merchandising I/II at Perry High will be part of a fashion show from 6 to 7 p.m. Fri., Dec. 16 in the school’s auditorium.

The theme of the school’s second annual fashion show is “Coast to Coast Culture,” and fi ve third-year fashion students are creating mini collections inspired by different countries. In addition, instructor Kristen Pearson says she has 15 second-year students who are creating and modeling one garment inspired by a different culture.

“The last component of our fashion show entails the American culture component, for which four different local stores are letting us borrow clothes for the night,” Pearson explains. “These stores include BFF Diva, Rue 21, Lizard Thicket and Designer Boulevard. All of the models are either fashion students or students who attend Perry who were chosen at a model casting.” Tickets are $5. For details, contact Pearson at 480-224-2917.
