Bobcat builds business for Ak-Chin Renaissance Festival goes high tech
New images from a full location photo shoot completed by BobCat Studios will be used by Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino and Resort to promote their new hotel tower. Exteriors of the hotel and casino were photographed from multiple angles using a boom lift, with the same shots were taken both in the morning and evening to yield daytime and sunset images.
“I wanted dynamic angles that accented the architecture,” says Producer-Director Robert “Bob” Diepenbrock. “To capture this, we needed to raise the elevation of the camera well above ground level.” Interiors of the new hotel tower rooms were also photographed with models posed as a couple enjoying a bedside meal courtesy of room service, and a winner celebrating in comfort. Exterior panoramas, sunset scenes and night lighting were created using digital computer effects.
“BobCat always brings something extra to the party,” said Nicole Gilotti, advertising and direct mail manager for Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino & Resort. “Bob’s artistic eye and vision resulted in exciting images that really showcase our new hotel tower and property.”

Festivals. This year, BobCat has expanded its media design and production capability to include QR codes to drive traffic to online ticket portals.
QR codes are special graphics inserted into print ads that can be scanned with a smart phone and compatible software. Scanning the code takes the user directly to a designated web address, creating a dynamic, interactive feature to an otherwise inert form of advertising.
“QR codes are one of the most exciting new developments in advertising,” says President and Designer Cathy “Cat” Beard, “We’ve worked closely with both the Carolina and Arizona Festivals to maximize the effectiveness of QR codes in ads to promote their events and ticket sales.”
