Certificate and Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce (CYPW)


One of these qualifications is essential for early years workers to show that they have the right skills to do your job and to enable their career progression.


They are work-based programmes where the learner studies at home and is visited at their setting by an assessor who guides them through the work. There is no classroom attendance required.


By taking your certificate or diploma with you will:

Free courses Several of our short training courses are included free of charge with the appropriate units when you take your qualification with Switch Training. These may include: First Aid for Child Carers EYFS - An Introduction Positive Behaviour Management Safeguarding Children, Levels 1 and 2


Apprenticeships Both CYPW qualifications can be taken as apprenticeships. Apprenticeships include the main Certificate or Diploma with the additional Key Skills of: Communication Application of Number Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Employment Responsibilities and Rights

Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) Level 3/4


PTLLS is a short course covering the basics of teaching in continuing and adult education - including how to plan sessions, motivate learners and use a variety of assessment methods.


As well as for anyone involved in teaching, for whom PTLLS is the essential starting point, the award provides valuable knowledge for anyone who has a role in training staff. It will provide you with communication, interpersonal and motivational skills enabling you to make you training effective, efficient and enjoyable.


The course is five days (one day a week) with some home project work.
