Sun shines for Christmas
Cromer Pavilion launched its Christmas show in unseasonably warm sunshine. The traditional end-of-the-pier variety show kicks off this weekend with fun and entertainment promiosed for all the family, old and young. This year children will go free along with paying adults, with organisers aiming to make it a little easier on the family budget.
It is also the first time the show has a theme – The 12 Days of Christmas. But unlike the traditional festive song, these 12 days will involve shopping and merriment in the run-up to the big day. Regular Christmas compere Olly Day, will be be joined on stage this year by some new faces, including comedian Dave Mac, vocalists Lulu Alexandra and Dave Page and a cast of dancers and singers, many of whom are appearing in Cromer for the first time. “It’s all going well,” said Olly. “The cast
are full of fun and have a lot of life.” Director and choreograper Di Cooke is

delighted to be back in the town with the cast. “It’s the first time we have had a theme for the show apart from Christmas,” she said. “There’ll be lots of popular Christmas music, some up-tempo items and Disney and Glee for the children.” Comedian Dave Mac said his humour was silly and clean, appealing to all ages. It’s his first time performing in Cromer but he’s no stranger to Norfolk have started his entertainment career as a Bluecoat at Pontins in Hemsby after leaving the RAF. “It love it here. I’ve been up early every
morning for a walk on the beach and have lots of friends coming up to see the show who are regulars here for their holidays,” he said. Most of the cast are staying locally for the duration of the 46 performances, which run twice daily until December 31 (not Christmas Day though).
