"I love feeling like a part of something bigger." FREQUENTLYASKEDQUESTIONS

WHAT’S A VILLAGE? Each village is a cluster of 4-6 cabin groups arranged

according to gender and grade. We believe this is the most effective way to build the trust, teamwork and mutual understanding that makes for a good camp experience.

WHO SUPERVISES MY CHILD?

Our counselors are what make Frost Valley’s summer camp meaningful, and many are former campers who know our camp culture and its traditions. Many counselors return year after year, helping us to maintain our Frost Valley spirit and traditions.

Six full-time, year-round professionals administer the camp. Frost Valley is fortunate to attract the best and brightest in the field. Counselors undergo extensive training in our policies and procedures, which stress health and safety first in a fun environment. See our year-round staff at FrostValley.org.

Our staff to camper ratio is 1 to 4. Rigorous background checks are conducted for all of our staff, seasonal and year-round.

WHAT IF MY CHILD GETS SICK?

Our Guenther Family Wellness Center is a state-of-the-art facility. The Center is staffed by EMTs and Registered Nurses 24 hours a day. The Wellness Center houses our Dialysis unit, operated in partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Montefiore. To learn more email nurse@frostvalley.org.

WHAT WILL MY CHILD EAT?

Three hot, wholesome meals are served daily along with a variety of fresh fruits and vegetarian options. Breakfasts also include yogurts, granola and dried fruits. Salad bars provide fresh veggies, and a cold cereal bar is available during all meal times. Care is taken to meet the needs of campers who are lactose-intolerant, have food allergies or follow a vegan diet. Chartwells Educational Dining Service creates the menus, insuring that each meal is nutritionally balanced. Candy and soda are not served or sold in the Camp Store.

WHERE WILL MY CHILD SLEEP?

Camp accommodations vary from single cabins, yurts and tents to lodges which house 2-4 male or female cabin groups. These arrangements all offer a unique bond-forming atmosphere, which contributes to positive cooperative living skills and the development of life-long friends. We honor one bunk request per camper.
