Tell us about Gum Tree. We are a unique gift and home shop located in a 1911 Craftsman-style bungalow by the sea in Hermosa. I am obsessed with finding great things that you’d want to give or get as a gift. We always gift wrap everything for free and go out of our way to help our customers find the perfect thing. We have wonderful, colorful baby and kids gifts, great hostess gifts and even gifts for the guys. We are well-known for our jewelry selection, and we carry lines at many price points so you can buy for your teenager and her friends or a little something more for yourself.
What brands or products do you carry at your business? We have a huge range of products, and I’m always looking for something new. Some of our standbys are Dash and Albert rugs and throws; Votivo candles; Thomas Paul pillow; Bla Bla dolls; Vilac France wooden toys; and lots of jewelry by Chan Luu, Dana Kellin, Cath- erine Weitzman, Tai, JLynn, Dogeared and many more.

What items are you most looking forward to sharing with customers this season? We have tons of amazing scarves in this season from the $28 wrap to the $179 Chan Luu cashmere and silk scarf, and lots of options in between. I went nuts for some 100% tissue weight printed cashmere scarves from Me and Kashmiere.
Will you offer any holiday events? Our favorite event is definitely our Santa Photos! San- ta Claus will be on the front patio twice in December; Thursday, December 1 from 4 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, December 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Photographs will be taken by two talented local photographers; $5 for a 5x7 print and $20 for the print and a digital file;with every penny going to the Hermosa Beach Education Foundation. Free hot cocoa for the kids both days.
Anything special on your own holiday wish list this year? I’m so excited for the Renee Garvey leather bracelets I ordered to arrive, and I’m obsessed with the Laguiole steak knives and all of their serving pieces for that mat- ter. I can’t wait to set my table for Christmas dinner.
