The Most Powerful Technology at the Region’s Most Specialized Cancer Center
Sylvester was the first provider in Florida and one of a few worldwide to use one of the latest weapons against
cancer—NanoKnife™ .
NanoKnife delivers electrical energy directly into tumors, killing cancer cells. It is especially effective for destroying tumors in soft tissue and lesions near sensitive organs as well as those located in hard-to- reach areas, which are often inoperable.
The treatment can be repeated if new lesions develop. Sylvester is using NanoKnife to treat tumors in the liver, lungs, kidneys, adrenal glands and prostate.

Using CyberKnife, Sylvester’s radiation oncology team is now applying a new strategy to modernize a traditional radiation oncology technique. CyberKnife provides a non-invasive alternative to surgery and treats cancer of the prostate, lungs, brain, spine, liver, pancreas and kidney.
