The West River Community Center is an 93,000 square foot facility built with plenty of modern amenities and a “western edge” design that blends with the landscape of southwestern North Dakota. The program areas were designed to achieve not only a visual connection between spaces, but an openness that allows users to feel a sense of community. The facility maximizes the use of natural light by way of large windows. Designed with the philosophy that community centers should entertain, educate and promote health and well-being.
Heart River Golf Course
Heart River Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 72 layout that is nestled along the scenic Heart River, with numerous panoramic views of Patterson Lake. This highly regarded course combines a rolling top nine with a wooded bottom nine that brings plenty of trees and water into play. These beautiful surroundings provide golfers with just the right blend of atmosphere and relaxation. Multiple tee boxes on every hole offer a unique, yet enjoyable, challenge to each and every golfer. Heart River Golf Course prides itself in providing a quality golfing experience for everyone. We will also try to accommodate your special golf outing or tournament requests, whether you have 100 golfers or a group of 5. Heart River Golf Course is also home to several premier golf tournaments, including the gem of them all, the Labor Day Classic.
Dickinson Recreation Center
Dickinson Recreation Center is a Dickinson Parks & Recreation owned and operated facility located adjacent to the West River Community Center.
The facility consists of a large arena which measures 216 ft. x 137 ft. with a seating capacity of 1,000. This arena is used as an indoor ice arena (October-March) and also hosts the Dickinson Hockey Club. During the off-season the arena is used to host special events such as trade shows, sport shows, circuses and more.
