2009 was a lacklustre year in the office furniture industry. Cupaz was lucky enough to ride the storm relatively untouched. The key to this smoother than expected ride seems to have been due to the diversity of services and products Cupaz offer and their ability to manage and sustain key client relationships.
What Business Are We In?
Stuart Cooper and John Edwards opened Cupaz to business in 2002 as an office furniture supplier. In 2005, they added complementary services to offer a one-stop shop for office space planning, office interior design and full office fit-out. This interesting mix and expertise has enabled them to tap into a wider source of clients and referrers. They were able to develop relationships with building firms needing help with space planning and interior design. This has worked extremely well to boost revenue and shelter them from the downturn.
