Why the Gender Gap and Solutions Like a tsunami sweeping all before it, girls are ascending in

power and prestige. Like the original first Americans were shoved aside and dispossessed of their lands so to are the males of society being bulldozed out of the way. Look at all the magazines, most TV commercials, and books written extolling the marvelous virtues of women to see that women are all the rage. We are being informed about the natural superiority of women. Every where you look it seems that women are trumpeting their superiority over the male. Just do a google search with such questions as, Do women make better leaders than men?, Do women make better policemen than men?, Do women make better detectives than men?, Do women make better construction workers than men?, Do women make better financial investors than men?, Do women make better entrepreneurs than men?, Are women better fighter pilots than men?, Do women make better soldiers than men?, and, yes indeed you will find studies that reveal that women are

better at practically everything than men. One can even expect to find a study that proves women make better men than men! What has brought about this glorification of all things female?

Just watch the preponderance of comicals on TV showing women trumping males. Go to book stores and see all the books written by women and some male authors giving advice to females on how to succeed in the work place and in business. Such as Vickie L. Milazzo’s book entitled Secrets to Wicked Success written to women in which Vickie writes glorifying female virtues and encouraging women to believe they can do anything while doing a google search for similar books for men are practically nonexistent. One would think women are in need of a great deal of help this despite the fact that girls are out performing boys from K-college, earning the majority of awards, earning the majority of college degrees, starting more businesses, and the younger women out earning the males! Yet despite all these favorable to girls statistics the myth that women are the down trodden gender in need of a helping hand persist. So is it that females are indeed superior to males that is given rise to the rising tide of females as women supremacist would have us to believe? No the main reasons are we have a flawed educational system dominated largely by female teachers that have created a very boy unfriendly school atmosphere that favors the way girls learn coupled with a flood of female support organizations, and authors advising women and encouraging women to out shine males in order to get the best paying jobs. Te solution to the gender gap crisis is reform the educational system to be gender neutral and if advice to one gender will help that gender it will also help the other gender so authors should write books favorable to both genders. Any author who gives advice to only one gender is showing an attitude that favors that gender over the other. We don’t need gender specific support groups that help one gender and not the other.

T-Bones Nets $4,140 for Salem Fire Department T-Bones Great American Eatery in Salem raised $4,140 through this

year’s annual Thanks for Giving fundraiser. The six locations of Great New Hampshire Restaurants fundraised for a month, raising money to benefit the equipment needs of fire departments in each restaurant’s community. The Thanks for Giving fundraiser provided anyone who dined at any T-Bones or Cactus Jack’s restaurant and donated $5 from October 17 through November 13 a $5 dining certificate as a thank you

for their donation. In Salem, the $4,140 raised will be put

toward firefighter personal escape systems. Across the restaurants’ six locations, more than $22,000 was raised for fire departments to purchase life-saving equipment needs. “We couldn’t be happier to donate more than $22,000 to these fire departments,” said Tom Boucher, owner and CEO of Great NH Restaurants. “These firefighters continually give back to our communities every day, and we’re proud that our guests once again are able to keep up their generous efforts.” Since 2005, Great NH Restaurants have

raised nearly $125,000 for New Hampshire- based charities and organizations through the Thanks for Giving fundraiser.
