Scouting for Food Event Benefits Shepherd’s Pantry
submitted by Carolyn Caron The Windham Scouting
Program, once again had a very successful Scouting for Food Pick Up on November 12. We picked up over 4,551 items (including items left at the Scouting for Food overnight vigil at Center School), sorted, boxed, and delivered to our local pantry, the Shepherd’s Pantry. It was a great community-wide event, and a very big heartfelt thank you to all who donated to this cause! Did you know that the
town of Windham has a very active scouting program? The Girl Scout program includes: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, and Seniors! And that the younger boys (first through fifth grades) have two different Cub Scout Packs, Pack 263 and 266, to choose from, each Pack having several dens of similar aged boys. The older boys also have two different Boy Scout Troops (sixth grade to 18 years old), Troop 263 and 266. Also
did you know that all of Windham Scouting program is run entirely from volunteers? Yes, we are very thankful for our volunteers! Windham’s Scouting for Food is a community wide Scouting event that is held every year, in the fall, with the service of all these scouting groups. Great job scouts and, of course, again, thanks to everyone who donated food!
