Grey Coat 8 Science stars!


A huge thanks to all the Year 8s that helped at the two Year 6 Parents' Evenings.


There were gasps of amazement by parents and their daughters as they expertly demonstrated The POP Test, Magic Ink, the Van der Graff Generator, Daphnia and other many other wonderful things.

As part of the ‘Home’ Project for Unit 1, AS students took part in a workshop where they did group and individual drawings of dolls using mixed media. Students worked in rotation on each drawing’s for 5 minutes using a variety of media. The outcomes were layered and used different scales. Each student then took back possession of their own work and finished it off using black ink and white paint. Following on with the theme of ‘Home’ AS students will soon take part in a project with Royal College of Art re- searcher Andrew Vallance at the Freud Museum, students will use their own family photographs to explore how identity can be created and histories reinterpreted. Ms Lyons
