Gifts and donations are needed for Faith Family Church’s 11th JumpStart Christmas, planned for Sat. and Sun., Dec. 10 and 11. The Southern Chandler church’s weekly JumpStart sidewalk Sunday school program reaches out to “some of the poorest neighborhoods in the community,” offering snacks, games and lessons about Jesus to local children. During the holidays, JumpStart provides Christmas gifts to approximately 400 area youngsters.
“Since we have consistently been in the neighborhoods for so long, the children are excited for us to come and really look forward to it,” says JumpStart participant Cindy Haynes. “In a world that seems to be constantly changing, we provide that sense of stability and reliability that children crave.”
JumpStart members meet at Faith Family Church at 11:45 a.m. each Saturday, before heading out “to serve the children.” Faith Family Church is located at 11530 E. Queen Creek Rd. For more information, call Joanne Sweeney at 480-539-8933.
