One World Group says thanks

The Oxted One World Group would like to thank all those who supported its bottle stall at the Hurst Green Fair by donating bottles and taking part in its tombola. The stall raised a £867 for overseas aid projects compared with £832 last year. Photo shows Maureen and Keith Mayers, who organised the stall, with the bottle stall before the tombola opened The Group’s next event is its annual general meeting which

takes place at the United Reformed Church, Bluehouse Lane. The Group’s officers and committee will report on fund raising and projects supported over the past year. Following the formal part of the meeting there will be a talk by Patricia Parker about the work of her Dorking-based Kids for Kids charity which operates in Darfur, Sudan and has been supported by the Oxted One World Group. Details of the Oxted One World Group are available on www.limpsfield.net .

Meet the Dining Super Heroes of Hurst Green’s Holland Junior School

The new Dining Super-Heroes programme

rewards excellent table manners and behaviour in the dining room: Four children (such as these pictured)who have been exceptionally polite during the week are invited to have lunch throughout the following week at a separate table laid with a tablecloth, china and glassware etc. They may each invite one guest.

This is a new programme that started at the beginning of the school year and is part of our overall Learning Super-Heroes programme.
