Fundamentals of Drawing: Grades 5–8 ERIN SCHOEPKE Ability: Beginner–Intermediate
Explore drawing techniques to help take your skills to the next level as you gain comfort with fundamentals of shape, line, perspective, and composition. Learn what it means to see like an artist while working from still life, photographs, and your imagination. A variety of drawing “prompts” will inspire creativity. Special Note: This class will help prepare potential Denver School of the Arts and Kunsmiller Academy students for the audition and portfolio process. Youth Life Drawing Studio: Working
from the Model: Grades 5–8 ERIN SCHOEPKE Ability: All Levels
This monthly class will introduce fundamental skills for drawing the human figure and face. Gain experience working from a live model and learn how to capture a person in motion, as well as still portraits. This exciting after school workshop will focus on proportion, observation, comparison, and representation of the figure on paper, providing a strong foundation for a lifetime of drawing. Psst! Building Your Portfolio: Grades 9–12 TONY ORTEGA & SYLVIA MONTERO Ability: All Levels
This dynamic, progressive class is an excellent way to build a portfolio for applying to a college-level art program. Lessons include the fundamentals of design, drawing, and color theory. Students will deepen their studies in a broad range of media, including oil and chalk pastel, oil and acrylic paint, watercolor, and monotype prints.
