Woodcuts, screen prints, intaglio, monotypes, and more! As you become technically competent, you will discover how printmaking can expand your ideas and complement your practice in other media, from drawing and painting to sculpture.


Screen Printing MARK FRIDAY Ability: All Levels


Learn the complete process of screen printing: construct a screen, create artwork on film, and sensitize, expose, and process a photo stencil. The first class will provide a demonstration of the full process; in later classes, students will create their own images and translate them into unique multi-color prints using water- based inks. Monotypes: Graphic Textures JOE HIGGINS Ability: All Levels Explore the visual possibilities of ink on paper, and the simple techniques for capturing the graphic power and visual strength of this medium. Students will explore the unique interactions of ink, paper, and press to create texture, graphic power, and spontaneous imagery. From quick, one-drop prints in black and white, students will progress to layered mulit-color prints. Special Note: Thursdays are uninstructed open studio time. Intaglio MARK LUNNING Ability: All Levels


This class investigates intaglio printmaking techniques such as zinc etching, solar plate etching, dry point, aquatint, soft ground, sugar lift, and more. There will be demonstrations on plate making, printing techniques, and printing a consistent edition. Special Note: Wednesdays are uninstructed open studio time. Introduction to Woodblock Printmaking THERESA HABERKORN Ability: Beginner–Intermediate This workshop will introduce students to woodblock, the simplest and oldest form of printmaking. Techniques covered will include carving, inking, and printing single and multi-color woodblock prints. Special Note: This class is beneficial for both beginning and ongoing woodblock students. Monotypes and Monoprints for Printmakers and Painters MARK LUNNING Ability: Intermediate–Advanced


This class explores one-of-a-kind fine art prints utilizing a combination of etching, solar plate, relief, stencils, monotypes, and many other printmaking techniques.
