Obituaries Gary Joseph Kalil


Gary Joseph Kalil, 39, of Salem, died November 9, 2011, from injuries sustained in a car accident in Florida. Gary grew up in Salem and graduated from the Greater Lawrence


Technical High School in Andover, MA. He was a self-employed auto salesman. He previously worked at Empire Auto in Manchester, and enjoyed the status of top salesman of the month many times, and he was awarded a plaque. Gary was an avid New England sports fan. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and he loved sunbathing on Salisbury Beach. Gary loved spending time with his family and many friends. Gary is survived by his loving mother, Carol J. (Scavongelli) Kalil


of Salem; his loving father, Gordon Kalil of Lawrence, MA; a beloved brother, Philip Cucinotti of Salisbury, MA; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Eugene D. Piwowarski, 79, of Pelham, died


November 14, 2001, at Greenbriar Terrace Nursing Home, Nashua. He was born in Nashua, where he grew up and attended schools, and graduated from Nashua High School. He later graduated from Lowell Tech with an associate’s degree. He was a resident of Pelham for the past eight years, formerly of Pennsylvania. He also lived in Mexico with his daughters for a short time and loved it there. Gene was a retired Chemist. He also sold real estate in Pennsylvania. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Pelham. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Polish music, and polkas. He loved playing the trumpet and enjoyed good food. He is survived by three daughters, Janet and her husband Lin Higley of Michigan, Ann Epright of Derry, and Joanne Berthel of Salem; a son, Michael Piwowarski of Vermont; five grandchildren, Jessica Buckley, Sarah Epright, Colin Higley, Norman Berthel III, and Ariel Berthel; and three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Daniel, and Claire Buckley.
