The “Mayor’s Peoples Ball” Will take place on Friday, 25th November, 7 pm until 11 pm at Bydales School, Marske. Tickets are only £10 and the evening will have an Oriental Theme with drinks on arrival, two course hot buffet, bar, raffle/ tombola and entertainment including singers, dancers and a disco (dresswear is smart/evening wear).


All proceeds will be going to the Mayor’s Charity Fund in aid of Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, the Mike Findley MND Fund and Coatham House.


Any tombola/raffle prizes would also be very much appreciated.


Friends of St Germains are holding a Bumper “Coffee Morning” on Saturday 26th November 2011, in the White House, Redcar Road, Marske by the sea, 10 – 12 Entrance 50p (including coffee and biscuits), there are various stalls, including Tombola, Cakes, Bric-a-brac, Clothes, Knitted Scarves, Jam and Pickles, Jewellery, Guess the Name, plus there will be a Display Board showing the work the group has done to date. “Please give your support”

Boosbeck


Work to improve the surface of the bridleway between the Station Hotel, Boosbeck and the Fox & Hounds, Slapewath, i.e. along the old railway line and past the Margrove ponds has recently been completed. This was funded by the Local Transport Plan and the intention was to bring the route up to a similar standard as the Guisborough Walkway. The job was carried out in two stages, the first was accessed from the playing field (Pit Yard) at Boosbeck, the second from the rear of the Fox & Hounds.

Skinningrove


Santa is taking up residence in his Grotto in the North Drift at the Mining Museum in Skinningrove on Saturday and Sunday 3rd and 4th December from 10.30am to 3pm . Whilst waiting to see Santa children can take part in Christmas Crafts and Games. Adults can have a hot drink and look around tombola and cake stalls whilst the resident harpist plays in the background. Guisborough


Guisborough Choral Society, conducted by Michael Summers, will present their annual Christmas Concert in Guisborough Methodist Church, Westgate, Guisborough on Saturday, 10th December, from 7.30pm. The programme will include Britten’s Ceremony of Carols with harpist Anita Aslin, and as usual there will be some lively items by Lockwood Brass as well as opportunities for all to join in the singing of traditional carols. Guisborough Floral Art Club is having a Christmas Party and Workshop at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 14th December in St. Nicholas’s Parish Hall, Guisborough. In charge of the workshop is Audrey Foster and her title is “A touch of sparkle”.


Guisborough Town Football Club will be holding a Sportsman Evening on the 2nd February 2012 and reservations are now being taken with tickets at £25 each or tables can be reserved for groups. First class entertainment is on offer with the incredibly funny comedian Josh Daniels and ex Liverpool footballer Jan Molby who also played for Denmark in the World Cup. There will also be pie n peas and the usual games such as Heads or Tails, Irish Bingo, raffle etc.
