This Halloween, Teesside based theatre company Clear as Mud were celebrating in style as they launch their latest and greatest production to date: Roald Dahl’s “The Witches” adapted by David Wood, directed by Charley Nicholson. Tickets are now on sale for their fantastic tour which is dedicated to the memory of little angel, Oliver Michael Thompson. Oli was only 7 months old when he was taken from us. He was an unbelievably brave and wonderful boy who suffered from the liver disease Biliary Atresia. Despite his condition, Oli was a bubbly, happy little boy who brought love and happiness to his family and everyone lucky enough to know and love him. Clear as Mud are working with the wonderful but seriously under-funded charity the Children’s Liver Foundation and all proceeds from the Redcar performance will be donated to them. “The Witches” will be performed: 1st December – Danby Village Hall 3rd December – Guisborough Parish Hall 4th December – Coatham Memorial Hall, Redcar

Clear as Mud began performing in 2010 with its debut show “Clockwork Orange” by Anthony Burgess and directed by and starring our very own Aaron Elliot. Shortly after this Clear as Mud went on to produce and perform “All the Great Books (abridged)” – in May - 89 books condensed into 90 minutes something even the Reader’s digest wouldn’t attempt! Where by their audiences experienced an exploration of Dickens with the soap opera Great Expectorations and the Iliad and Odyssey combined to produce the Iddiodity in a fast-paced comedy. Since then Clear as Mud have moved on their search to bring literature and creativity to the masses with their latest production of Roald Dahl’s The
Witches adapted by David Wood with a fantastic cast of 14 talented actors with a mixture of new and old faces to the company. The charity, Children’s Liver Disease Foundation says “We extend our thanks to all the organisers and performers and to everyone attending the show for your generosity and kindness. The money raised will be used towards our support, research and information programmes and will mean we will be able to continue to help families living day in, day out with childhood liver disease. Your donation brings hope - thank you “The production aims to not only entertain but to make a large sum of money for the charity, bring awareness of liver disease in Children and most importantly to remember a wonderful little boy, Oli. The Witches promises to be a show not to be missed by the entire family! Not only will it celebrate the life of a wonderful little boy and raise money for a very deserving cause but also children can lose themselves in the wickedly wonderful world of Roald Dahl
whilst the adults,
well...it’s a great excuse to release their inner child and re-visit cherished memories!
