‘Brake’ a National Road safety Charity again this year to enable us to distribute thousands of High Visible Badges to schools throughout the country. The badges are donated to help keep the
children safe during dark nights especially when the clocks go back at this time of year.
Marske Hall Christmas Fair We need
Leonard Cheshire Disability, Marske Hall is delighted to invite you to come and join in the festive fun at our annual Christmas Fair.
This year we are lucky to have a visit from Father Christmas plus a great many fabulous stalls and activities. We have raffles, tombolas, craft stalls, face painting, cake stalls, bric a brac and refreshments. We also have some fantastic stalls which have really great ideas for Christmas gifts and decoration.
This is always a lovely event for all the family. All proceeds are going to supporting Service User Activities at Marske Hall. Every year Marske Hall hold a lot of very successful fundraising events. The success is partly due to the hard work
of the staff and volunteers, but is also because of the amazing support and commitment from our local community. We appreciate we are very lucky to receive this support and are very grateful. As part of our ongoing fundraising we are constantly looking for donations of tombola or raffle prizes. If you have any spare prizes, unneeded gifts or would like to make any donation please leave at the Home or contact Margaret Thirlwell on 07714 291979 who is happy to collect from the local area.

Approximately 40 brave students and some members of staff put their fear of heights behind them when they abseiled 80 feet off Guisborough Viaduct. They managed to raise an impressive £1,180.35 for the 3rd Guisborough Scout Hut on Belmangate, which will help restore the ceiling. Chris Gell, the Group Scout Leader said: “3rd Guisborough Scout Group would like to thank the students and staff at Prior Pursglove for their efforts and contributions in raising money for our group. It is such a great feeling when another group of young people take the time to support others in the community. The money raised will ensure over 120 young people can continue in their efforts to develop and become part of the wider community.” Jack Graham, 16, from Marske said: “We are really pleased with the amount we have managed to raise, the abseil was great fun and it was a good feeling to be able to hand over the cheque.”
The abseil took place on Monday 17th and Wednesday 19th October. Organiser Andrea Booth, Student Liaison Officer, said: “It was great to see
so many students getting involved as well as some brave members of staff! They had the experience of trying something new and adventurous as well as knowing that the sponsorship was being donated to a really worthwhile local community cause. The atmosphere while we were doing the abseil was fantastic; everyone supported each other and offered lots of encouragement for those who were facing their fear of heights. Everyone felt great afterwards for what they had achieved.” Note to press: Photo attached L-R front row: Catherine Rose (Beaver Scout Leader), Alfie Barber (Cub Scout), Luke Booth (Beaver), Callum Smith (Beaver), Bradley Jolly (Beaver)
