Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.


Congratulations!! Redcar & Cleveland is one of the top recyclers and we want to keep it this way. But we can’t without your support. By working together we’re now recycling and composting 42% of general waste. However we still require you to keep recycling everything you can to keep us on track to achieve the government recycling target of 45% by 2015.

Recycling Christmas


Cards You can place your Christmas cards (non glitter only) along with your plastics and cardboard collection.

Wrapping Paper Please remember that we cannot accept wrapping paper in the blue bag, due to plastic coating and glitter which contaminates the recycling process. If you are unable to re-use, please dispose into your normal household bin.


Real Christmas


Please ensure your real Christmas tree is placed out for collection by 7am.

Please note a Permit Scheme is now in operation for vans and trailers at both centres and is available at a cost of £10.50 from Seafield House Redcar, Belmont House Guisborough and South Bank Library at Low Grange Health Village.


2011/12 Winter Suspension of


Garden Waste Collections This service will be suspended from 1st December 2011 for the winter period and no collections will take place during December 2011, January 2012 & February 2012.


Collections will resume on 1st March 2012 (as per your scheduled collection date).


Residents wanting to dispose of green/garden waste during the 3 month suspension period can use the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Warrenby and Dunsdale.

recycle for Redcar & Cleveland New Charges For Clear Sacks


As from 1st January 2012 there will be a £2 charge for the supply of 50 clear sacks for the containment of plastic and cardboard recycling.

Residents can purchase clear sacks from the following outlets within the borough. All Libraries, Redcar & Guisborough Tourist Information Centres, Kirkleatham Museum, Redcar & Cleveland House in Redcar, Low Grange Health Village in South Bank and Fairway House in Dormanstown.
