ALBERTA Official counting of the ballots took

place Nov. 10. Zones 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8 had elections,

with the remaining four zones electing delegates by acclamation. Elections took place during the

Alberta Beef Producer (ABP) meetings held across Alberta in October and November. “We were happy to have elections in

five zones this year and with the caliber of the candidates we welcome the fresh input those elected will offer. Congratulations and thank you to all who ran and for their interest in the industry and ABP,” said Rich Smith, ABP executive director. ABP represents the collective interests

of the 26,000 beef cattle producers who are stewards of the industry in this province. ABP is a proud reflection of this industry. Run by producers for producers, it is

dedicated to maintaining a truly sustainable, competitive industry for the benefit of all society. This is a list of all ABP delegates for

Cattlemen’s Young Leaders looking for young mentor possibilities

ALBERTA The Cattlemen’s Young Leaders

(CYL) development program is accepting applications for 2012 mentorship opportunities across Canada. The program offers industry-

specific training and mentorship to help youth, aged 18 to 35, to network and gain experience in a potential career that would also assist the beef industry into the

future. Each year, 16 CYL youth have the

opportunity to participate in provincial, national and international discussions that define the direction and future of the Canadian cattle and beef industry. Applications will be accepted until

Feb. 25, 2012. Mentorship opportunities begin in April 2012. For more information visit:
