Quantum Pyrotechnics additionally set up a private demonstration at 1pm on show day, featuring the largest fl ames, loudest bangs and biggest sparks. Based on previous experiences of
using Select Security & Stewarding Ltd for pit and back of house security requirements, Hodgson chose to use the Brighton-based company for Michael
Forever. The safety of the public in the two pits - created by Mojo Barriers - and backstage was Hodgson’s responsibility, with the stadium organising stewards for the public’s safety. The three Mojo runs required 500
metres of Mojo Barrier - supplied by Eve Trakway - with Select providing 40 pit security staff and a further 110 staff marshalling the team of 1,300 individuals working backstage. Mojo Barriers were again used to create a sterile area under the platforms into which the access vehicles were dropped. “I’m proud to say both the paramedic during the build and the stadium safety offi cer told me this was one of the safest concerts that had been staged at the stadium,” said Hodgson.
