n the tempestuous world of the stock market, keeping up with the times is a vital necessity. Indeed experience is invaluable, but being a real success on the

market floor involves both perfect timing and a willingness to change tack and try new ideas. Founder of the trading and training company Knowledge to Action, Greg Secker, is an asset management expert, who has used sound advice and innovative techniques to make his fortune through the markets and now shares his wealth of knowledge with budding traders in every corner of the planet. Known worldwide as an expert Forex trader and motivational speaker, Secker, who often provides market advice to global television channels CNBC and Bloomberg, began an unassuming career as a trading technologist at Tomas Cook Financial Services. Amongst earning his trading stripes, Secker headed the team responsible for the first real-time Forex trading platform known as the Virtual Trading Desk.

By his mind 20s, Secker was the vice 54 waterfrontmagazines.co.uk

president of leading US asset management company Mellon Financial Corporation before retiring at just 27 to put what he had learnt into teaching his friends and family his most successful strategies.

He reflects, “I didn’t know that I was going to establish Knowledge to Action, it all just fell into place rather quickly. After I left I began to trade from my living room floor, and gradually, more and more of my friends and family joined me. I had a mini trading floor in the comfort of my own home, which was great, but it also got a bit manic – I had friends camping out so that they could hit the markets as soon as they opened at 5am.” After a few months of home based training,

Secker realised his love for teaching people about the markets and decided to share his expertise on a grand scale, thus forming Knowledge to Action in 2003. Now one of Britain’s fastest growing businesses, the company employs 150 people worldwide with offices in London, Cape Town and Sydney and partners in Singapore and America. Te company’s meteoric success has been highlighted as they picked up a prized finalist position in the 2010 London Excellence Awards, and most recently claimed 49th place in the 2010 Sunday Times Fast Track 100 Awards. Alongside such proud achievements, Greg finds the greatest pleasure in changing the minds of those who attend his seminars with pre-determined views of how successful they
