CORNWALL SUSTAINABLE
BUILDING TRUST Centre to be built
as a collaboration Continues from page 17
The good news is that there is an acknowledged core of experience and expertise in the South West that can help us to get these issues understood and tackled.
The proposed Green Build
Cornwall Learning Centre aims to become somewhere to demonstrate these principles in practice, where people can also get answers to how best to reduce both the ecological impact, and financial drain on their resources, of their buildings.
The Green Build Centre will
be built as a collaboration between CSBT, their Green Building suppliers and both further and higher education
bodies. It is hoped to train local people during the construction process on the latest sustainable building methods and to capture, record and learn from the whole project. The building will then be monitored in use and lessons will be learned and shared.
Suppliers interested in joining the collaboration should contact CSBT about the Future Founders event on November 9 at the Eden Project. The evening will be a chance
to find out more about the development and how they may be able to get involved. Many of the Green Building suppliers are already signed up to the online resource base,
www.sw-ecowarehouse.co.uk. Others are always welcomed.
