Firm celebrates 30th anniversary


Company looks forward with optimism


FOUNDED in 1981 in Ivybridge, Devon, where it is still based, Hayman Construction Ltd is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a high level of enquiries and an optimistic outlook for the coming months, bucking current industry trends. From modest beginnings, the group now comprises construction, joinery and property sales divisions and has grown in stature to undertake complex commercial work as well as


landmark residential developments, while developing a minor works unit to take on smaller domestic contracts.


Supported by a dedicated joinery works from its inception, the company has always enjoyed the philosophy of sourcing staff and materials locally - where possible - which has resulted in a loyal workforce and sustainability. Tim Thomas, Hayman’s group commercial manager, said: ‘Our aim has always


been to grow the business in the Devon area which has enabled us to expand steadily without overstretching ourselves.


‘This seems to have paid


off and hasn’t affected our ability to think big when it comes to tackling some of the highly specified projects we are presented with by some of the more adventurous architects and developers.’ Two cases in point are a recently completed office and conference centre for one of Plymouth’s largest employers


and a residential development of two luxury properties in Ugborough, South Devon. Although the houses have been designed to blend in with a village setting, it is clear, once you walk through the front door, that here is an exceptionally modern approach in terms of technology and quality of fittings, resulting in stylish and energy-saving family homes.
