Windows offers all the energy rated windows including A, with B being its minimum standard. “We are happy to work with local authorities or developers to offer them an ‘A’ rated window,” added Graham.
Of course, value for money is the watchword with customers in these more austere times and Crown Commercial Windows has developed several innovative ways of achieving an ‘A’ rating, whilst avoiding the need for the more expensive glazing specifications. “The fact that we used post-consumer recycled PVC-U reinforcing to achieve an ‘A’ rating also makes the product of particular interest to customers facing ever more stringent legislation around sustainable use of materials.”
Latest developments at the company include Secured by Design, which is a crime prevention initiative managed by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and entitles accredited companies to use the Secured by Design logo
and promote the term ‘Police Preferred Specification’.
“Our windows recently passed all the relevant tests and so we’re just waiting for the official certification that confirms we can supply products that meet Secured by Design specification.”
The company is set to gain Secured by Design certification to BS7950: 1997 Specification for enhanced security performance of casement windows for domestic applications using the Eurocell Eurologik 70mm PVC-U Window System.
