■ NICK Ferris Skip Hire Ltd, established in 1985 by Nick and Lyn Ferris, is a Cornish family- run business. Nick and Lyn’s son, Paul, joined the business, which is based at Penryn, in 2000. Paul said: ‘We provide skips ranging in size from two cubic yards to 40 cubic yards roll-on, roll-off. ‘Our waste transfer and
recycling centre, Valley View Transfer Station at Bissom, Penryn, is open for trade and non-trade waste and has a fully operational weighbridge system. ‘We stock building materials at the transfer station - these consist of fine building sand, Callywith walling stone, granite, chippings, pea gravel and various other aggregates. The materials are available for either collection or delivery.
‘The transfer station is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and Saturday mornings until noon. We also run tipper lorries from 7.5 tonne to 16 tonne. These can be used for deliveries, haulage purposes or for muck- away across the majority of Cornwall.’
