more than simply creating a spectacle. With the economic downturn dampening spirits, a heartwarming lighting display can get customers back to shopping centres. Russell Brown, Operations Manager at MK Illumination UK, says; “Shopping centres and authorities have recognised how festive lighting displays can help to enhance a visitor’s shopping experience and increase visitors from further afield during the busiest time of the year.” Subsequently, clients are considering festive lights as an essential marketing tool, which Brown completely understands affects the decision making process; “This means that everything needs to be considered to make the product more effective, from the colours of the lights to whether they should flash or blink.” As well as being more aware of the marketing potential, MK Illuminaions believes clients are also much more focused on the environmental implications of their lighting displays. This has meant a real surge in the use of LED lighting products, which make installations much more energy efficient, and can sometimes mean a very white light, which has been a popular choice in recent years. change of styles, MK Illumination has recently released a unique warm-white LED bulb, which was developed with one of the world's most renowned LED lighting manufacturers. The LED combines energy efficiency and high brightness with a consistent warm-white tone that is similar to that of a traditional light bulb. The LED has a light output of 360 degrees, which is made possible by a special epoxy resin that acts like a magnifying glass. “This is the first warm-white LED bulb in our industry to match the colour and distribution of light created by a traditional light bulb,” says Brown. “Warm-white is the latest trend in festive lighting because of its welcoming golden glow, and its consistent colour tone means it is able to create a spectacular effect without the need for other colours.” Christmas lights help to create a warm and inviting atmosphere in both commercial and public spaces. Festive lighting has the ability to get people out in the open during the dark winter nights, and can really put a smile on people’s faces. After seeing all these lovely installations I hope, like us here at A1, you’re now a little more in the Christmas spirit!
