Bond Timber staff are fully trained to TRADA (Timber Research and Development Association) standards and are sawmill operator certified. They offer a free consultancy and advice service to help customers choose the right materials and methods for a job. The business has taken on sawmill premises and a
timber sales yard at Merton which has not been operating in recent times. The business has also taken over a related company, Clinton Gates, which had been based at the site.
The takeover of the site is in line with Bond Timber’s plans to branch out to other areas of the country, Devon being first in line. Bond Timber expects to

THE Fell Partnership is now the agent for the whole of the South West for Nudura Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs)
ICF is a shuttering system that is self-supporting, creating a very strong thermally-efficient wall. Recent hot box tests have shown ICF walls with a similar U value (measurement of heat loss through a material) to timber frame to only need reheating every 30 hours instead of every 5 hours. This is due to the residual heat built up in the thermal mass of the ICF walls.
The Nudura blocks are designed to create a polystyrene shuttering system complete with webs to carry reinforcement. Pump grade concrete is poured into the form and then vibrated to consolidate, creating a waterproof, airtight, thermally- efficient wall.

The shuttering is then left in place to create the insulation. The outside can be clad in stone, brick, timber, render, slate etc. The internal form is used to create any ducts that are needed for electrics, waste pipes etc. The plasterboard is screwed onto the plastic webs without any adhesives. If you want to fit shelves, cupboards etc, you can screw into the webs that are spaced every eight inches. ICF walls have been in use for
about 50 years in Europe and America providing a simple building system. They are excellent for building retaining and basement walls, swimming pools, whole houses, schools, insulated storage and commercial buildings. They provide a fast simple build with relatively low- skill labour. ICF build costs are very similar to a conventional build. ICFs then save energy costs and maintenance forever by reducing heating and cooling loads. Nudura ICFs offer clients an
environmentally friendly structure with numerous benefits over conventional construction. We can offer increased U values of 0.16, 0.13 and 0.10 providing values exceeding the Code for Sustainable Homes. The ICFs provide maximum
