Flexible approach
A SWEEP Plus, which has a flexible approach to fitting in with customers’ requirements, is run by chimney sweep Colin Adams. Based in Black Torrington, near Beaworthy, Colin is a member of the National Association of Chimney Sweeps (NACS) and is also approved by HETAS. By working in partnership with local builders and private homeowners, services such as the removal of bird nests, installation of cowls and bird guards, and smoke testing are available in addition to chimney sweeping. Colin is a keen fundraiser - he and his family opened up their large garage in Black Torrington to visitors over Christmas and the New Year. Members of the public were welcome to visit the walk- in grotto, filled with snowmen, music and lights. This Christmas the beneficiary was the Alzheimer’s Research Trust and a total of £215 was raised. For more information, email
