MORE THAN BOOKS Your library is more than a warehouse for books. We’ve


got popular magazines; local newspapers and Sunday editions from Chicago, St. Louis, L.A. and Minneapolis, plus the Des Moines Register on CD-ROM and online; large print books; puppets, puzzles and bookpacks for kids; recorded books; phonebooks for most Iowa communities and major US cities, plus Reference USA, a nation-wide online directory; a variety of music on CD; and educational CD-ROM’s for home use. Check out our free videos and DVD’s on gardening, travel, parenting, exercise...plus popular movies—classics as well as new releases.


TECHNOLOGY & EQUIPMENT Available for use in the library: photo-copier, typewriter,


interactive storybooks, word processing, free Internet access, wireless access, and a 20/20+TV enlarger for the visually impaired. Available for checkout: overhead projector. Hate long lines? Try the 3M SelfCheck System!

PUBLIC MEETING ROOMS Rooms are available for public use at no charge. Small rooms seat 1-8 people,


the “classroom” holds up to 20, and the Community Room capacity is 60. Call for guidelines and scheduling information.

Young Adult books and magazines are located on the second floor, along with comfy couches and study tables. We’ve got great book lists, too – recommendations from our teen librarian! Drop in, or check our website for updates and info on future programs, book-talks, reading clubs, and other activities.
