There’s lots of ways to see Santa

As the 21st anniversary celebrations at the Bure Valley Railway come to an end, the railway’s ever popular Santa Specials return. The Santa Train departs from

Wroxham and travels to Aylsham where Santa and his railway sleigh are there to welcome everybody. Children can visit Santa in his

grotto and receive a present, and there is also entertainment and festive refreshments for all the family, before they climb aboard the train for the return journey.

The Santa experience takes

approximately three hours, including a named present for each child 12 and under. It costs £14 per person (adults and children). The Santa Specials this year are running weekends from November 26 and daily from December 20, up to and including Christmas Eve. Booking is essential.  The Rotary Club is well- known for its community and charity work and the festive

season is no exception. The club have events planned to make Christmas in Aylsham more of a community occasion than ever! Club President Richard Latham started his new year in July with the intention of increasing community involvement even more. On Tuesday, November 8, there will be a Ladies’ Shopping Event at the Town Hall starting at 7pm. This is a chance to get some of that shopping done in a relaxed environment while enjoying a glass of wine, canapés and coffee, all included in the entry fee of £7.50. Many local traders and craftsmen will be on hand and you can even order your Christmas cakes and wreaths.

Making a return

to Aylsham, but also visiting Cawston and Buxton, will be Santa on his

sleigh. This has become a very popular annual event eagerly anticipated by the children in the Aylsham area (and the adults!).You can see Santa between December 9 and 18. The club members have combined with local musical talent to organise a Community

Christmas Carol Concert on Thursday, December 22, in St Michael’s church at 7pm. Join the Bure Valley Male

Voice Choir, Aylsham Band, Musical Friends Choir, Clive Ashwin (saxophone) and Matthew Martin (organ) for a chance to hear and sing all your favourite Christmas music and carols. This is a free concert but a collection will be made on the evening for Help for Heroes. All the members of the Rotary Club in Aylsham hope you will support these events which, we are sure, will help to make Christmas in Aylsham even more special this year.
