“Thumbs up to Veterans Day, and to our armed services. Their dedication and sacrificed to this great nation should never be forgotten. It’s time we give thanks to our Veterans, for without them we wouldn’t have the freedoms that we hold true today. We thank you and greatly appreciate what you have done for all and for the United States of America. Let freedom ring!”

“Thumbs down for selectmen Hohenberger and Breton for voting down safety equipment requested by the Fire Dept. Shame, shame, shame on you. I am sure you expect, as I do, that these men and women will rush to your aid if ever you should need it. How will you look them in the face as they run into your burning house with old equipment? This is a no-brainer you guys - police and fire get what they need. I always vote to support our police and fire depts. and I will remember how to vote when you gentlemen are up for re-election!”

“Thumbs up to all the utility workers. I really appreciate their hard work. Also, thanks to all the out of state workers who came to help. It was such a beautiful sight to see the Quebec utility convoy roll into Manchester. Merci!”

“Thumbs up to the librarian of the Nesmith

Library of Windham. A boy and his mother (from Pelham) wanted to borrow a Harry Potter Book. Their library didn’t have any available. The Windham librarian denied them with just a firm shake of her head and off they went. His mother should know better than to come to our public library. Just buy the kid the book!”

“Thumbs up for working well into the night,

Wednesday, Nov. 2nd, and getting my power up. (Don’t take it to heart, the complaining from some idiot people out there, They’ll never change nor have the courage to do what you do, especially in the dark). I’m sure it is no easy task getting 300k people back up in less than a week! God forbid something catastrophic doesn’t ever hapen, I don’t think these ‘complainers’ would know how to handle it!”

“Thumbs up to Pelham’s Ex-School Board members! Your thumbs to yourselves give me the best laugh of the week. Last week was classic! I cut it out and put it on my fridge so I would start the day with laughter! The sad part is I cry every time I look at my tax bill thinking of the millions you have cost this town! Pelham Pride was one of your first big signs, where is it now? Apparently Pelham Pride meant don’t do anything. All your promises have been lies. How about the biggest one? ‘State funding is not going away!’ If we keep doing nothing we won’t have to do anything to our schools because as the older population tries to sell their homes, no one will move in. People who can afford it will keep sending their kids to private school. How many of our Bud. Comm. and Selectman are sending their kids to private schools?? Pelham Pride. Keep writing your thumbs up, no one believe your arguments any more. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice or three or four times, shame on you!”

“Thumbs down to the person driving the

White Ford Explorer with Gold trim on Oct. 20th approximately 4:30 pm. You hit and killed both my dogs on Mammoth Road, my 8 year-old collie and one year old Min. pin. Yes, my fault the dogs got loose out of a fenced in yard. But your fault for not even slowing down, you just kept driving like nothing happened. You left them there on the Road!! I am a forgiving person, and I would have forgiven you if you stopped. I will never find you, but karma will.”

“Thumbs up to the residents of Derry, Pelham, Salem, and Windham. The employees at National Grid would like to thank you for your patience, understanding, and thoughtfulness through the rough times experienced with the surprise October storm. Your positive attitudes allowed for a smoother restoration of service to your communities.”

“Thumbs down to malicious colleagues who go out of their way to gossip, complain, and destroy otherwise happy work environments. Maybe if you stopped to think about your actions took some additional trainings and focused on your responsibilities you would be more proficient at your job and make work more pleasurable than everyone trying to avoid you and knowing the kind of things you do behind co- worker’s backs. Little minds gossip.”

“Thumbs up to Veterans and their families for standing strong. Thank you for keeping this country the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. Thank you for your service!”

“Thumbs down to the teenage kids who

vandalized our haystacks and mums on Nottingham Road the night of trick-or-treating. Your parents must be awfully proud of you. By the way, you left your ‘Denver Broncos Moreno’ shirt while you were destroying our property. Feel free to pick it up and make sure you bring a note of apology with you.”

“Thumbs down to writing ‘thumbs ups’ about

yourself. Is there any one in Pelham that thinks that the ex-Pelham School Board member isn’t

writing about herself? She lowered the bar and brought back the D! Hooray!! She worked against the Coop and the High School on Windham Road land, probably so she could keep riding her horse out there! Hooray!! She brought the PSD to court over wearing sneakers to the Nations Capitol, costing the tax-payers thousands in legal fees! Hooray!! She bought land without going to the voters! Hooray!! Pelham needs her back on the school board like we need more trailers... Oh wait, more just arrived! Hooray!!”

“Thumbs down to the Pelham Chunky’s Cinema

for kicking my daughter and her friends out on Friday night with no warning and then the next day being very rude to my daughters friends and also my son. Obviously, if they are with my 22 year old son they will be just fine.”

“Thumbs down to the two party system, Democrats, and the media!”

“Thumbs down to the people

who order a month worth of food and drinks at the Dunkin Donuts drive thru. When you order 5 different drinks, 3 dozen donuts, and hot sandwiches your only thinking of yourself and not the workers or the other people in line waiting to only get a cup of coffee. Then you proceed to serve up everyone on your car. Show a little compassion and walk the short distance to the inside counter! The walk and fresh air will do you good.”

“Thumbs down to the Electric companies. I just came back from vacation in Hawaii to this mess, which was absolutely outrageous. We pay the highest utility rates in the country and we get the worst service in the country. I have two solutions to this 5-9 days without electricity. When the first person who looses electricity reports it, the Governor’s house and the CEO of the Electric Companies’ get their power shut off, and their power gets turned on only after the last reported house comes back on. Now, if they cry about that, there’s another solution. When the wires come down… they stay down, and they get buried right here, right now and we won’t have these problems. I like the first idea better.”

“Thumbs down to the kids Trick or treating in Pelham who went into people’s mail boxes when they weren’t home and shoved paper plates in them. You are not supposed to be in people’s mail boxes. That is against the law. The only one who can go into a mailbox is the mailman or the owner.”

“Thumbs down for Sovereign Bank in

Windham. I have a business check that was given to me for something I sold for $300.00. I don’t have an account with that bank, but the check was drawn from that particular Sovereign Bank and they charged me $5.00 to cash that check. The manager said that the next time I should do business with my own bank.”
