“We are thrilled to hear how you want to become more involved with the College and the business program. We are setting up programs and events to get you more involved...look for these events in future newsletters.”
Joel Parrish, MBA, Chair of the
Business Administration Department WELCOME FROM THE CHAIR
I am delighted that you are viewing the newsletter for the Springfield College Department of Business Administration. It is hard to believe that it has been one year since we launched our redesigned newsletter, and based on the feedback we have received, it has been a tremendous success.
Our goal is for you to easily obtain the in- formation you seek about our academic programs and our learning environment. As members of our department continue to meet with all of our outstanding students in our business and health majors, we con- sistently hear of the impact Springfield College and the department of business administration has had on your academic lives. We are also thrilled to hear how you want to become more involved with the College and the business program. We are setting up programs and events to get you more involved and to hopefully bring back graduates to campus to network with students and other alumni. Look for these events in future newsletters.
Please take the time to check out our department’s updated website, where we provide information on our activities, strategic directions, and accomplishments.
BUSINESSMANAGER
Among many other developments, see some of the highlights below:
• Preparation of participation of business students in the annual Grinspoon, Garvey, and Young Entrepreneurship Conference on Oct. 28, 2011. This event aims to inspire, motivate, and support college students with ideas for small businesses.
• An exciting second year for our new MBA program as we celebrated graduating our first class in May 2011. The program continues to grow and enhance as a premier learning experience for our students and is incorporating a new track in health care management.
• An updated business core, concentrations, and minor curriculum that takes us into the 21st century with a competitive, enriching, and knowledge-based program.
Welcome to the 2011-12 academic year!
