Baroness Shirley to deliver lecture


THE Snelling Lecture for 2011 is to be given by Baroness Shirley Williams.


The lecture entitled Can There Be a Just War? will take place on Friday, 11 November at 7.45pm in the Oxted United Reformed Church the Bluehouse Lane, Oxted. Tickets, which can be obtained from Oxted URC office, are limited to two per person and are priced at £15 each.

THE Hever Christmas Fair takes place this year in the newly refurbished Guthrie Pavilion at Hever Castle on Thursday, 1 December between 10am and 3.30pm. The admission charge is £3 and parking is free.


There will be 23 very interesting and varied stalls with wonderful presents for Christmas and a raffle will be held.


Coffee, tea and refreshments will be served all day. Funds raised will be shared between St Peter’s Church and Hever Primary School.


Discounted entry to the castle and grounds is available from the fair.
