BARBICAN LIFE

Jaguar was known as SS Jaguar. They bought in proprietary engines to make their own brand of sports cars. After WW11 the Company dropped the SS nametag and became Jaguar with the all new XK engine - the backbone of their model range. Sir William had a keen eye for detail and styling working with life size pre launch models He also ran a highly successful business and was a motivating leader. Jaguar didn’t pay the highest wages but staff retention was high. 1961 saw the first E-Type produced. Sir William priced it at £2k, against Aston Martin’s £5k competitor. E-Type waiting lists developed and demand just exploded. The iconic E-Type is remains just as popular today. The 1983 Maserati is one of the

200 Kyalami models ever produced (43 of which were right hand drives) and known for its power and reliability. It is named after the South African racing circuit, where in 1967 Pedro Rodriguez won the South African Grand Prix in a Cooper-Maserati. Tim has developed his business in re-commissioning classic cars over

many years. He has taken it from a passionate interest - when he began working life for Whitbread Brewery in Chiswell Street - to making it his principal and highly successful business specializing in Bentleys, Jaguars and Rolls Royces. Because of his extensive experience in re- commissioning cars and preparing them for the owners to either enjoy or to sell, an important part of Tim’s business has grown into looking after cars for clients – managing all aspects of restoration, tour
