Innovative Wound Care “A Path To Healing”
Chronic or non-healing wounds can be very difficult to treat effectively. Wounds happen for different reasons,
such as; poor circulation, injury, vascular disease, immobility, and diabetes. Sometimes, these conditions interfere with people’s lives, ability to work and self esteem. If chronic or non-healing wounds are not treated aggressively, they can lead to bone infections and subsequent amputations.
People with diabetes have a higher risk of developing chronic wounds. In the United States, 25.8 million people or 8.3% of the population have diabetes. The American Diabetes Association reports, “More than 60% of amputations occur in people with diabetes.” If you have a wound that won’t heal, you are not alone. Nearly 5 million Americans are diagnosed with chronic wounds. The good news is that you have options to help yourself heal.
Advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine centers are a resource for treatment and education for chronic wound suffers. Our Wound Care Centers are staffed with certified clinicians and physicians educated and trained to deliver the most advanced therapies available for healing including specialized dressings, bi-layered cell therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments.
Our Wound Center Professional Teams partner with the patient to find the underlying cause of the wound. Family members and caregivers are included in developing a customized plan to bring each patient to the highest quality of life with the shortest possible healing time. Education will include; frequency of visits, nutrition, hygiene, proper foot wear and activity level. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a treatment used in advanced wound centers to treat certain wounds such as; Diabetic Ulcers, Bone Infections and Radiation Tissue Damage, Crush injuries and other diagnosis that would be appropriate as determined by the treating physician.
Breathing 100% oxygen in specialized chambers allows the blood and plasma to be super saturated with oxygen. HBOT helps patients develop new vessel growth, new tissue growth and creates an environment hostile to bacteria and promotes wound healing. Our Wound Healing Institutes boast a healing rate of greater than 90% and they are accredited by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society which is the gold stamp of approval within our industry. When this accreditation is achieved, you can be assured that you are in a quality program providing scientifically based treatments in a safe and regulated environment.
