Step2 The Christmas sales peak has the toy trade shifting up
another gear to prepare for the season. The majority of retailers, however, have an eye on 2012’s spring and summer season. Step 2 prides themselves on their drop-ship service for the toy trade; the drop-ship service on their larger items boasts a three day lead time, complementing the in store selections with both major and independent retailers. Step2 UK sales manager, Brian Tinniswood states:
“At certain points, we couldn’t get the product out fast enough! We had a cross-dock operation in place for six weeks due to strong demand. It was nice to see these strong sales, but June and July was a gentle reminder of how the UK’s weather can turn on a sixpence and affect our industry more than most. That said, it has been a strong year for us and we have been busy laying the foundations for further growth in 2012. “With a great range expansion on its way, especially on wheeled goods, we think Step2 will be in a great position in the market.” Another development coming next spring/summer
