LOCAL UPS OWNERS TEAM UP WITH TOYS FOR TOTS FOUNDATION
SANTA ROSA, CA. ~The UPS
Store in the G&G
Shopping Center, in conjunc- tion with The UPS Store loca- tions across the country, has teamed up with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in their Toys for Tots Literacy Program.
"The literacy pro-
gram is the perfect way to help provide these children with the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty. On average, in low-income neighborhoods, the ratio of
age-appropriate books to chil- dren is one book for every 300 children. That’s a sad sta- tistic,” said Jackie Duncan, Owner of a local The UPS Store. This initiative will offer economically disadvantaged children the ability to compete academically and to succeed by
providing them access
to books and educational resources that will enhance their ability to read and to communicate. The UPS Store sells $1 donation cards and
for every dollar donated, a book will go to a local child, courtesy of Scholastic Inc. The store will continue addi- tional fundraising activities throughout the year. (this sen- tence is optional) The UPS Store is open 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call (707) 578-6062 or visit www.

New Restaurant in Healdsburg
Known to be the Wurst!
by Barry O'Meara
I found the Wurst place to eat in Healdsburg. The place is full if wieners and not a loser on the menu. Just down the Healdsburg Square is the The Wurst Sausage Grill & Beer Garden. Owner Charles Bell has brought or should I say “Brat” some of the best
sausages from Chicago and accompanies them with the best Sonoma County has to offer: brews and wine. not all about
It’s the Sausage;
they also offer Burgers and let’s not forget the “Wurst Extras”, like French Fries, Sweet Potato Fries and my favorite, Onion Rings.
For
salads, they offer a Red Potato Salad or a Memphis Cole Slaw. Looking for something green? Well, that can satisfied with his Romaine, applewood bacon with sweet hot peppers
and a tarragon ranch. Or, try his spring mix with candied pecans, granny smith apples, topped with his own beer mustard vinaigrette. Of course we wouldn’t
want to leave without the Wurst Endings.
They also
offer Milk Shakes made with Double Rainbow ice cream or Ice Cream Puff filled with the double rainbow vanilla and milk chocolate fudge, and crushed salted peanuts. Located at 22 Matheson St. in Healdsburg.

One Sunday a pastor asked his congregation to consider giving a little extra in the offering plate. He said that whoever gave the most would be able to pick out three hymns. After the offering plates were passed, the pastor glanced down and noticed that someone had contributed a $1,000 bill. He was so excited that he immediately shared his joy with his congregation, and said he'd like to personally thank the person who had placed the money in the plate.
JOKE #9
A very quiet, elderly, saintly widow shyly raised her hand. The pastor asked her to come to the front. Slowly she made her way to the pastor. He told her how wonderful it was that she gave so much and asked her to pick out three hymns.
Her eyes brightened as she looked over the congregation, pointed to the three most handsome men in the building and said, "I'll take him, him, and him."
