CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE FOR HER Ladies, when Christmas shopping for men, do not get him:

• Socks or ties, trust me, he has enough. • One of the about 10 shaving or shower gel sets he’s bound to receive. He can’t be that smelly.

• Books or DVDs on dieting and exercise. It’s Christmas time let him enjoy himself.

• The latest special edition DVD of his favourite film/TV programme if he already has another version. Unless

he’s a complete fanatic he probably doesn’t care about the additional 4 seconds of previously unreleased bonus footage.

• Things that you want him to do but that he’s just not into. Buying him Tango lessons or a place on an English

Literature course won’t fill him with the Christmas spirit. Do get him:

• The new film he’s been talking about or his favourite comedian’s new DVD. This will be watched happily, Pride and Predjudice won’t be. You could even buy him DVDs of films you know he likes but hasn’t seen in ages. This would make a good bargain gift.

• Tickets to his favourite comedian will make him ecstatic or perhaps a sporting event or concert.

• If he’s been reading a book or playing a computer game see if there is a sequel out. GameStop in City Square

offer a deal on the latest games. If you trade in selected titles you can get the new ones at cut prices.

• Pointless gadgets with cool names like an Interactive Navy Seals Spaghetti Amplifier. He won’t have a clue

what it is but he’ll love it.

• If you really haven’t a clue what to get him, ask his friends or even ask him. He’ll probably tell you but be

warned he may want you to do the same in return.

• For older men a bottle of fine whiskey will do the trick and they won’t feel offended if you get them a gift

voucher.

• A new TV if you can afford it but in these times he won’t be disappointed if you can’t.
