Casa do Lagos Playa Lagos (Bueu) Map ref: D3 Web ref: 901 Sleeps 8 | 5 Bedrooms | 2 Bathrooms | Beach 300m

There is no doubting that the combination of a private pool and an unspoilt sandy beach at virtually the end of the garden is an ideal one.Add to this the pleasure of an ever changing seascape as yachts and colourful fishing boatsmake theirway in and out of the little fishing port of Bueu, andwe suspect thatmost guestswill find it hard to tear themselves away fromCasa do Lagos.

A tiered garden on three levels allows full access to these sea views to the west over the Ría de Aldan, a tiny, sheltered inlet of the Ría de Pontevedra, so that the lighthouse of Punta Cousa seems only a stone’s throw across the water.A covered dining terrace overlooks the lawned garden with its barbecue house; below this sits the swimming pool, also surrounded by an area of grass; then in turn a few steps further down lead to a garden retreat with fruit trees providing shade to simply read or doze undisturbed.

The area around is designated as natural parkland, which ensures an unspoilt holiday setting. However, if the need arises tomingle with humanity, market day in nearby Bueu (5km) provides ample opportunity for people watching, perhaps whilst sipping a glass of Albariño and enjoying a dish or two of tapas.Around 10kmbeyond Bueu is the larger town ofMarin, where a wide range of shops and restaurants can be found. Excursions by boat fromboth towns to the island of Onsmake for an interesting view of the seafaring and fishing tradition of the Rías Baixas.

La Pintoresca Playa de Limens (Cangas) Map ref: D3 Web ref: 920 Sleeps 6 | 3 Bedrooms | 2 Bathrooms | Beach 180m

Imagine stepping out of your garden gate and following a country lane for just under 200metres to reach a dune- backed beach of fine white sand, where a collection of homes, a beach bar and local restaurant do little to interrupt the lush green slopes that rise gently fromeither end of the shore.Ahead, looking out to sea, the distinctive silhouette of the nearby Cíes Islands forms an impressive backdrop.

This is the enviable situation of La Pintoresca, which, set just back fromthe unspoilt beach of Limens, enjoys one of the most sought after locations in this pretty corner of Galicia. With such a superb beach so close to hand, you will no doubt spendmuch of your time here.Nevertheless, should you decide to retreat to the privacy of your own pool, the enclosed neatly presented grounds of the property with their wide lawns and spacious barbecue area offer a thoroughly attractive setting in which to do so.

Fromhere,a covered terrace, accessed by steps, leads theway to the interior, where a smart living areawith light tiled floors is cosy andwelcoming.Upstairs, wooden floors and ceilings add character to the comfortable bedrooms, and an open terrace looks out across the garden to the nearbywater.
