Just 500mfromthe centre of the typical village of Tinajo, this spacious and smartly furnished residence forms an impressive
landmark.Private and serene, it sits against a backdrop of gently rolling hills and looks out across a panoramic vista towards the shimmering blue waters of the island’s northern coastline, with the nearby isle of La Graciosa visible in the distance.
To stay in Villa La Acequia is to experience being in the heartland of this beautiful and fascinating island.A short walk fromthe house reveals the local shops and restaurants of one of Lanzarote’s quintessential villages, seemingly unchanged over the years and characterised by its uniformly painted white walls and green shutters. To the west and just a short drive away is the unique and untouched landscape of the Timanfaya National Park, whilst to the north the dramatic sweep of sands that is the beach of Famara can be reached in just 15minutes.
Owned by a carpenter and displayingmany of his own individual and beautifully carved pieces, the house itself is stylishly decorated and boasts generous proportions that allow space for a private gymon the lower level. Various areas of soft seating include a bright gallery-style room with windows that capture views across the village and out towards the sea, whilst to the rear and accessed via a door fromthe dining roomis the swimming pool with its surrounding terraces and in-built barbecue. Made pleasingly private by the walls that surround it on all sides, this enclosed outdoor area forms a perfect retreat, with only the tops of the hills that spread out behind the property being visible beyond.
