New Dance Classes come to Saltburn

The Bellamy School of Ballet opens its doors in Saltburn on November 7th 2011 offering ballet and acro (acrobatic dancing) classes for children of all ages. The newly founded

school will be running in the Methodist Church Hall on Milton Street under the watchful eye of RAD qualified ballet teacher Zoe Bellamy. Dance students will be working towards RAD Ballet, and BATD Acro exams annually, helping them progress and improve their technique. Zoe is far from new to the world of dance and

currently teaches dance and fitness across Teesside to schools and community groups. She is qualified to teach a range of disciplines including: ballet, tap, modern, stage, acrobatics, zumba, aerobics and street, being taught at prestigious dance studios including the Northern Ballet School in Manchester and the London Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). And most recently graduated with a BA Honours degree in Dance and Performing Arts. Students can also expect to benefit from Zoe’s range of experience of working with influential international choreographers and performing with various dance companies across Europe and the UK. When asked what was her greatest achievement to

date Zoe explained: “Being one of only 21 students in the world to be

given a place at the RAD, and being one of the youngest students ever to graduate the Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma there – I can’t top that!

“In London I trained alongside members of the

Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Australian Ballet Principals as well as West End Stars – it left me completely star struck. “I just want to be able to pass on my skills to my

students, and for them to get the enjoyment out of dancing that I have.” And when asked about the future, Zoe has clear

goals: “My sister Holly is a talented dancer and dance

teacher too. She’s studying for a three year intensive Dance Degree at the moment. Once she’s completed her studies we’ll be growing the business further delivering more classes. We have always loved dancing together, and are looking forward to working together too.” The new Saltburn classes will start on Monday, 7th

November. To book a place, or simply have a chat, call Zoe on: 07854 578703 or drop her an email at

Saltburn Learning Campus Christmas Fair

If the weather outside is frightful, you can be sure of a very warm welcome at Saltburn Learning Campus Christmas Fair. Last year record numbers attended the joint campus

Christmas Fair, in spite of the icy cold weather, and enjoyed Santa’s wonderful arrival to the sounds of Saltburn Primary School Choir and Marske Silver Band. The secondary students had their own stalls and this year, they will be joined by some Primary School student stalls, to demonstrate their enterprise and creative flair, dedicating their time to planning an array of Christmassy stalls to raise funds for a joint campus mini bus. The Primary PFA and Huntcliff PTFA are working

together towards another successful fair, extending the stalls from local businesses and local community groups so that we have our own Christmas Shopping Village. There will be regular favourites such as Santa’s Grotto and the children can do their own Christmas Shopping in the ever-popular Secret Gifts Room. There will be games, Christmas crafts, jewellery

and lots of Christmas treats. One of the highlights of last year’s fair was the Christmas Wish Balloon Release which we will be doing again this year. The fair is always very well supported by local

businesses, and we are grateful for any donations for our raffle, and for the chocolate and bottle tombolas. If you have donations please hand them into the Main Reception at Saltburn Learning Campus. Local businesses and community groups can book a stall by contacting Vici Wreford-Sinnott, Chair of Saltburn Primary PFA, on 079 7558 2218 or to get a booking form. Stalls are booked on a first come, first served basis. The Fair will take place on Friday, 2nd December

from 4.30-6.30pm, is open to all and is guaranteed to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Please pop along to this excellent community event and join the school in supporting its students and local community. We look forward to seeing you there.
