Saltburn Athletic (Junior) FC Under 8s

The TJFA season has begun and the Under 8s have played four games. In accordance with the FA ruling we are not allowed to print scores or mention League positions. The first game was an away game versus North Ormesby. We showed a bit of rustiness among some players and unfortunately this was our downfall. At least we were able to compete and keep the score respectable. Man of the Match was Joseph Ritson. The second game was a home match against

Whinney Banks. Both teams gave their all and a draw was the right result in what was a better team effort. Man of the Match was Cameron Wood. The third game was away to Cleveland Juniors in which there were plenty of goals but we couldn’t match their goal tally and we lost out again. Though we are competing well against teams that have a bigger catchment area and have more players to choose from. Man of the Match was Jacob Midgley. Our fourth game was away to Kader Rangers and

unfortunately we didn’t do ourselves justice and we were easily beaten. There was no nominated Man of the Match for this game. Apart from the official league fixture the teams also play a second game deemed as a friendly. This allows the substitutes to play a full game and they have done well winning two and losing two of the four games played.

Thanks to the Parents for their continued support.

We still have room for two new players so if there are any 7 year olds who wish to trial for the team please contact Andy Croll Tel: 0777 9648877 or turn up at 10.30am every Saturday at the rear of Huntcliff School (entry to the field is opposite Saltburn Golf Club).
