This tour takes you through the land of charming contrasts, a pleasing mix of the modern and traditional in the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Capture colourful images of the


royal city of Mysore, rich Hoysala architecture at Halebid, Belur and Somnathpur, enchanting glimpses of the Nilgiri ‘Blue Mountains’ as you travel on a toy train from Ooty to Coonoor,


rolling Coorg plantations, wildlife at Nagarhole National Park and the sandy beach at Covelong.


Day 1: Arrive Bangalore. Arrive at Bangalore airport. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your overnight hotel. A short tour of the city later this afternoon.


Day 2: Bangalore to Hassan via Sravanabelagola, 200 Km/5hrs. Drive to Hassan en route visiting Sravanabelagola. Climb 600 steps to reach the hilltop dominated by 1000 years old Gomateshwara statue. During the afternoon visit Belur and Halebid temples, often described as the ‘jewel box’ of Hoysala temple architecture. Overnight in Hassan.


Day 3: Hassan to Madikeri (Coorg) 150 Km/3hrs 30mins. Drive to the ‘Scotland of India’ for a 2-night stay. Afternoon at leisure to explore the rolling hills with plantations of coffee, black pepper vines and the celebrated Coorg orange and cardamom plants.


Day 4: Madikeri (Bylekuppe). Morning visit Dubare Elephant Camp. After lunch visit Bylekuppe the second largest Tibetan settlement outside Tibet, complete with a Tibetan monastery with 4,500 monks, a Tibetan village and a flea market.


Day 5: Madikeri to Nagarhole, 150 Km/4 hrs. Drive to Nagarhole to arrive at Kings Sanctuary for a 2 night stay. During the afternoon take a jeep safari in the national park.


Day 6: Nagarhole National Park. Morning and afternoon jungle safaris in the Nagarhole National Park. Rest of the day at leisure by the river.


Day 7: Nagarhole to Mysore, 80 Km/2 hrs. After a morning jeep safari in the park, drive to Mysore for a 2-night stay. Visit the grand Mysore Royal Palace in the afternoon.


Day 8: Mysore (Somnathpur). Morning excursion to Somnathpur (1 hr). Visit the Keshava temple built in 1268 AD. The temple is richly adorned with carved friezes and sculptured images. Enjoy a relaxing evening at Brindavan Gardens, famous for its many water features, including the musical fountains.


Day 9: Mysore to Ooty, 120 Km/4 hrs. Drive to Ooty, the erstwhile summer headquarters of the British government. Lush green valley, terraced plantations and a pleasant climate makes Ooty one of South India’s most popular hill stations.


Day 10: Ooty (Coonoor, by train). In the morning board the Nilgiri Mountain Railway - toy train to Coonoor, travelling across plantations and forest clad hills with breathtaking views. Return back to Ooty viaroad to enjoy the sights of this lovely hill station.


Day 11: Ooty to Chennai via Coimbatore, 100 Km/. Drive to Coimbatore in time to board your flight to Chennai (Madras). Meet and welcome at Chennai airport and transfer to Covelong Beach for a relaxing 4 night stay.


Day 12: Covelong. After breakfast depart on a sightseeing tour. Visit the monuments including Shore Temple and Arjuna’s Penance at Mamallapuram, a World Heritage Site. Travel onwards to the golden city of Kanchipuram - one of the most sacred places of India.


Day 13 - 14: Covelong. At leisure to enjoy the facilities at Fisherman’s Cove.


Day 15: Covelong to Chennai, 75 Km/1 hr 30mins. Drive to Chennai airport and depart on your onward flight.
