comforts. Visit Delhi, Shah Jahan’s 17th Century Old Delhi and the elegant 1930’s avenues of the British Raj; the spectacular fort city of Gwalior; the beautiful Taj Mahal and the mysterious
colourful Rajput cities of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur in Rajasthan.
Day 1: Arrive Delhi. Upon your arrival in Delhi you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a 2 night stay at The Taj Mahal, New Delhi Hotel, one of the most distinguished addresses in the national capital. The Taj Mahal Hotel is located in the exclusive residential area of Lutyens’ Delhi, close to the seat of government. Reflecting the heritage of Mughal Delhi, this hotel offers graceful architecture with modern facilities.
Day 2: Delhi. Full day sightseeing tour of Delhi. Explore the Qutab Complex - Qutab Minar, Iron Pillar, Mughal citadel named Lal Qila (Red Fort) and Lutyens Delhi with its tree lined boulevards leading to the British Viceroy’s Palace (Rashtrapati Bhawan) now the official residence of the President of India, the Secretariat, India Gate and Parliament House. Also, visit the grand Jama Masjid and Humayan’s Tomb.
Day 3 - 4: Delhi to Gwalior, by train. Transfer to New Delhi station to board Shatabdi Express to Gwalior. Steeped in the splendour of its past, the ancient city of Gwalior has made a successful transition into a vibrant and bustling modern Indian city. Stay 2 nights at the Usha Kiran Palace.
Day 5: Gwalior to Agra, 118 Km/3 hrs. Drive to Agra. Evening at leisure. Stay 2 nights in Agra, at the Taj View Hotel. Situated within a kilometre of the Taj Mahal, the world-renowned monument to love. Guests can look forward to gracious interiors, personalized service and the Taj’s wonderful style for a memorable stay.
Day 6: Agra. Visit the Taj Mahal in the morning. The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631. He built one of the world’s most famous buildings the ‘Taj Mahal’. Its perfect proportions and exquisite craftsmanship have been described as ‘a vision, a dream, a poem, and a wonder’. In the afternoon visit Agra Fort and Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah.
Day 7: Agra to Jaipur, 265 km/7 hrs. Drive to Jaipur, the famed ‘Pink City’. En route visit Fatehpur Sikri - the imperial ruins of the dream capital city of the Great Mughal Emperor - Akbar. Afternoon at leisure. Stay 2 nights in Jaipur.
Day 8: Jaipur. Morning excursion to Amber - capital of the old state of Dhundhar, located on the rugged hills that surround Jaipur. Ride the elephants up the hill, admire the wealth of Amber’s association with the Mughals. In the afternoon visit the City Palace, Jantar Mantar (the Royal Observatory) and Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds).
Day 9: Jaipur to Jodhpur, 340 Km/ 7 hrs. Morning drive to the fortress city of Jodhpur and check in at Hotel Taj Hari Mahal. Overnight stay.
Taj Hari Mahal: Spread over six acres of lush, landscaped gardens, this palace of the 21st century offers luxurious refinement. With its Marwar style architecture and Moghul-inspired domes, enamelled murals, slender columns and grand interiors, this is design that lives up to the fantasy. Located close to the city markets you can find many things to see and experience.
Day 10: Jodhpur. Morning city sight-seeing including the majestic Meharangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada and Clock Tower. Afternoon at leisure for independent activities. Overnight stay.
Day 11: Jodhpur to Udaipur, 269 Km/7 hrs. Drive to Udaipur (via Ranakpur), a kaleidoscope of fairytale palaces, lakes, temples, and narrow lanes. En route visit Ranakpur temples.
Day 12: Udaipur. Morning sight-seeing tour of the city including a visit to the City Palace, the Museum, the lovely royal gardens - Saheliyon ki Badi. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 13: Udaipur to Mumbai, by air. Transfer to the airport and fly from Udaipur to Mumbai for an overnight stay. Time at leisure to explore Mumbai affectionately known as ‘Bollywood’, the largest film making industry in the world. Time at leisure to explore the delights of Mumbai.
Day 14: Mumbai. Morning sightseeing tour of Mumbai, including a visit to the Dhobi Ghats, the Malabar Hills and the Prince of Wales Museum. Afternoon at leisure and overnight stay.
Day 15: Depart Mumbai. Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
