Me and what I do!

I can clearly remember Jesus being my best friend from Junior School age onwards. My parents didn’t go to Church very often but I did and was in the choir at our local Anglican Church. At eighteen I left home and did a year’s placement with the Rob Frost Seed T e ams

(Na t i o n a l

Evangel i s t for the Methodist Church but worked with all Christian Denominations,) working in outreach projects with a Church in Kent.

I then moved to Huddersfield to do a music degree and it was whilst I was there that I met David (or Dave as he has always been to me!) We were married just before our final year at university and then moved to Grantham with Dave’s job. That was thirteen years ago now and we have enjoyed helping on mission teams together, helping with all sorts of Church services, and generally working together for God.

At the same time I have

worked as a piano and violin teacher (something I’m still doing in Stamford) and also started my own dog training business, Ichthus Canine Centre, which was a mixture of my love of dogs and a desire to build relationships with people and see what God will do with those relationships. This has grown far beyond I could have imagined and now has several training centres and a large team working as part of it. (If any of you would like to come to any training events in Stamford that I’ll be tak- ing do keep an eye on t h e w e b - s i t e – www.iccdogtraining.co.u k ) I am also blessed with 3 wonderful dogs of my own – Asaph, an elderly, rescue German Shepherd who has been with us for over 11 years and has such a lovely nature, Eze (Ezekiel) a 5 year old Border Collie who is also a sweetie, and Ru (Ruach) our fab Great Dane who is now 4 (but is still a big baby) and is also a rescue. Eze, Ru and I compete in Canine Freestyle and Heelwork-to-Music and after many years of working towards it we are due to be going to Crufts in March next year

– a dream for the last 10 years. I also compete in Obedience and Agility with Eze.

Well, I now feel that I’ve settled in and got to know people enough to be able to think about doing other things. Once a fortnight on a Friday I’m going to be having an open house and would love to you pop in if you can (details below…)

Gospel Choir Christina and Ruach

Whilst Dave was at Ridley as well as gate-crashing many of his lectures (which the college very kindly welcomed me to!) I was also one of the choir directors for the Gospel Choir. All I can say is this was an amazing experience and a huge privilege. Each week I came away full of joy and it was such fun. The community was amazing and the harmonies and rhythms were wonderful. In November I shall be starting a Churches Together in Stamford Gospel Choir which will welcome everyone from professional musicians to those people who have never sung before in their life but would like to give it a go! Until Christmas this will just be for Chr i s t ians to give everyone time to settle in, but in January if enough people are interested it will then become open to the wider community and become a form of outreach. It starts on Wednesday the 16th November, 7:45-9:15pm at Christ Church and will then run once a week on Wednesday evenings, same time and place. If you would like to come but can’t manage a Wednesday please give me a ring and it may be that we can change the

evening in the New Year if needed. (PS Jazz pianist needed – please let me know if you’re able to help!)

Creative

Finally, I’m inviting anyone who would like to have tea, coffee, cake, nattering and making Christmas cards and beau- tiful coasters round. (No artistic talent required – believe me if I can do this anyone can!) This is a relationship building, fun thing for those inside and outside the Church and is also on Fridays -
