A Picture of Christmas

What’s new in the art scene in and around Swansea.

Mission Gallery is one of Wales’ most dynamic visual art spaces which is located in the vibrancy of Swansea’s Maritime Quarter and includes exhibition space, craft space and learning resources. With cutting edge design and contemporary craft made by the individual, for the individual, Mission Gallery provides an exceptional place to shop for every person at every price range. Be one of the fi rst to discover new contemporary craft and design at the Christmas Show opening on 19th November and continuing until 8th January. Or immerse yourself in exhibitions that push the boundaries of visual art; visit Olivia Brown’s ‘Reggie’s Roller Palace’ at the same time and experience a visual spectacle of handmade canines and Reggie the rat! 01792 652016. www.missiongallery.co.uk

Attic Gallery is Wales’ longest established independent gallery, positioned in Pocketts Wharf on the north-east side of Swansea Marina. The current exhibition, until 12th November, features new paintings by David Randal Davies. David has exhibited widely, winning several prizes including, in 2008, best painting from Wales in the Discerning Eye Exhibition. The Winter Group Exhibition then opens on 19th November until 24th December. Each of the artists the gallery represents has been asked to provide new work for the show, so the gallery will be showcasing a rich and varied selection of art. Work purchased may be taken on the day, so the exhibition will be continually changing. 01792 653387. www.atticgallery.co.uk
