“Thumbs up to Hudson P D. I saw and was the result of an officer being friendly at a local shop.”

“Thumbs up to past Science teachers, we miss Zanni... When science was fun and a good learning event in the Hudson schools.”

“Thumbs up to Amanda Coan and Walgreens for helping organize and produce the Hudson Dog Park Pet Photo Shoot fundraiser. It was a lovely and successful event and your commitment is greatly appreciated.”

“Thumbs down to suddenly having night football at Campbell High School. 12 years ago, during school construction, the School Board guaranteed that any plans for lights on the athletic fields would first be discussed with all abutters. We have been good neighbors, on the other hand, you operate like a bull in a china shop.”

“Thumbs down to the people that run Hudson.

This place is getting worse and worse by day. Between boards and selectmen playing god and big brother, the sports programs is terrible compared to surrounding towns and the schools being run by a clown, we are in trouble and our kids are in trouble. It’s time to get out of dodge, Hudson the seniors can have you.”

“Thumbs up, way up to the Bronco Backers. You

all have done a fantastic job! Without you and all your hard work, it would not have been much of a Halloween Haunted Hayride!!!”

“Thumbs down to M.F. Obviously, you can’t take a hint. It doesn’t matter how many ‘shining’ letters of recommendation you submitted or how many times you applied for the position. CHS apparently didn’t want you there in the first place and laying you off was their opportunity to say good-bye. By writing a whiny letter to the editor last week just sealed your fate. You will probably never work in the Litchfield school system now. Remember: no matter how good you think you are, no one is indispensable, we are all expendable.”

“Thumbs down to the woman driving the silver/ grey sedan on Thursday morning October 20th at approximately 8 a.m. on Rte 102 who caused the accident. You left the line of traffic from right behind me. I was on 102 by McDonald’s. You proceeded to use the turn only lane as your personal travel lane. You had no turn signal on at any time and there is no doubt from what I saw that you caused that accident and any injuries sustained. I sure hope the other driver wasn’t held responsible for your reckless driving.”

“Thumbs down to Kevin Burns, the new Trash

Czar. Why have there been no public hearings on the new trash dumping policy. We go from once a month too use the dump to only 3 times a year. Now your changing how the trash is picked up. I hope your going to refund the money people paid for their extra barrels. Why did the people not have a say in this. Your statement that people with concerns should call the selectmen’s office but that it was too late because the contract was signed is so typical of how the selectmen are not doing their job. It’s great that you saved money, now you can spend it somewhere else.”

“Thumbs up to Cathy S, Joe J, Peg G, Heather P,

Dawn K, Julie R, Sonia C, Berit K, Shelly L, Karen S, Amymarie D, Holly C, Tracy E, Kari F, Chris D, Sharon T, Aimee C, Laura T, Patti P, Nicole & Kevin R, Laura G, Kelly W , Joan F, and Mrs Finnegan for stepping up and volunteering for the LMS Fifth Grade Halloween Harvest Party. Without people like you coming together, we cannot have fun events for our children! You all rock and THANK YOU!!!!”

“Thumbs up ....Way Up to our state Reps. and Senators that voted to override our LAME DUCK governor’s veto of SB88. You all have my vote next election. I am a proud NRA member and a CCP citizen. Thank You Thank You Thank You Now let’s work on a national reciprocity law.”

“Thumbs up to Tony at LMS. You are such a great help to all of us. We really appreciate all you did to help make our event successful! You are amazing! Thumbs up to DJ Steve Ossinger, Main Event DJ! Once again you got those kids on the dance floor! They had an awesome time!! Thank you so much from the LMS Fifth Grade! Thumbs up to Haley’s Pizza! The kids gobbled

“Thumbs down to the Hudson selectman and in particular to Road Agent, Kevin Burns on the new waste disposal contract. When the contract came out a couple of years ago, I spent $75 on an extra waste container, and now I will be told that I can’t use it? What are large families supposed to do if their trash won’t fit in a single container? We recycle all we can but still use the extra

down 18 cheese pizzas in record time at the LMS Fifth Grade Halloween Harvest Party! We can’t thank you enough for all you do for our community!!”

“Thumbs up to Notthingham West. What a

wonderful school. While I agree the pick up and drop off could be easier, I think maybe give your children a little independence and PUT THEM ON THE BUS. We took buses growing up or walked home for that matter. Believe me, the school administration would love nothing more than not to deal with all the cars in car line before and after school. Get educated on the buses the school districts supplies. Let your children socialize before and after school. Cut the cord.”

“Thumbs down to all the negative comments on the HPD. So what if the Chief has a new truck. You want one ‘company’ car, get a better/different job. Our PD works hard. Do you remember the saying? Having nothing nice to say, keep your mouth shut!”

“Thumbs down to the Hudson Police Department... your lies, coercion, and intimidation tactics are DESPICABLE. My trust in you has been forever lost. ‘To Protect and Serve.’ What a joke!!!”

“Thumbs down to the writer who wrote about the Selectmen increasing taxes by 3.2% For once in their lives they held the line and did not increase a penny to the next 2012 taxes. I suggest the thumbs writer re-read the HLN tax increase story for information accuracy. And, I suggest you look at the voting booth to see who really has been increasing your taxes. The mirror reflects the guilty parties.”

container most weeks. So where does the extra go now? Perfect timing as well, announcing that our services are being cut right after another tax increase. And then top it off with the arrogance of the statement that we can “voice our concerns” but the contract has been ‘signed on the dotted line.’ The selectmen and road agent need an attitude adjustment! Kevin Burns should be reprimanded or fired not congratulated!”

“Thumbs down to the Hudson Police Chief. I recently spoke with one of our Hudson Officers. During our conversation it was obvious that he was using smokeless tobacco and spitting the residue into a coffee cup he was carrying. I found this to be extremely unprofessional and rather disgusting. I had been under the impression that officers were not allowed to smoke or use tobacco products while on duty in the view of the public. I spoke with another officer and was told that while this was true when Chief Gendron was in charge the policy was changed with Chief Lavoie. He told me that one of the administrative command staff uses smokeless tobacco so the rule was changed. This is very unprofessional and posses the risk of mouth or throat cancer. Great leadership decision Chief Lavoie.”

“Thumbs up to Kathy--- Not only are you a

wonderful Wife, but also a wonderful mother, friend and person! I love you very much – thank you for all that you do that commonly goes unnoticed. Stay classy. Love, Ron

“Thumbs up to the LMS volleyball team for winning the Tri-County tournament. Too bad there isn’t a middle school state championship tournament. It would have been nice to see you move on and play other middle schools in a tournament for a State Champion title. Great job!”

“Thumbs up and congratulations to Alvirne’s B-Naturals. They did a wonderful job on the big stage with the Professional American Spirit Company last weekend. Thanks, too, to the great director, Elizabeth Beaton, and to the wonderful program at Alvirne High School.”

“Thumbs up to Bensons Park. Wow! What a great place for my dog to poop and urinate all over the place. When I see the dog officer, I just go the other way. There’s plenty of paths to hide. Maybe we should just keep our dogs out of Bensons. Or maybe we should hurry up and open the dog park so everybody’s required to have their dog visit the dog park and do their business in the dog park before they visit the people park. That’s a great idea!”

“Thumbs down to BOS Hudson for making a

bad choice for chairman and not taking action to correct the issue!! Selectmen, you are to represent the people of this town, not serve the chairman. IE: Misuse of office, bully pulpit, bullying, dictator in the making. Bad choice!! Do the right thing. Voters take notice.”

”Thumbs up to our amazing SRO Officer Stys. Keep up the good work!”

House Leaders Comment on Vice President Coming to NH to Sign Obama Re-Election Filing

submitted by House Republican Office House Speaker William O’Brien (R-Mont

LAWS & DEMERS PLLC

Vernon) and House Majority Leader D.J. Bettencourt (R-Salem) offered the following comments in response to Vice President Joe Biden coming to the New Hampshire State House to file for his and President Obama’s re- election.

House Speaker William O’Brien “Earlier today, Vice President Biden said that the nation ‘needed a stronger Republican Party.’ Thankfully, the disastrous leadership of President Obama is strengthening the Republican Party everyday. From the failed economic policies of this administration that are bankrupting our nation and our children’s future to the President’s reckless and resolute commitment to higher taxes and more regulations that are robbing the confidence of our employers to create jobs, the Obama and Biden Team is doing more for inspiring Americans to embrace the fiscally

responsible message of the Republican Party than anyone else. If the 2010 election wasn’t enough evidence of the strength of the GOP, I’m sure the Vice President will be given an even greater display in 2012.” House Majority Leader D.J. Bettencourt “It’s nice Vice President Biden is able to join us in New Hampshire today given his busy schedule touting President Obama’s Stimulus 2.0. His extreme rhetoric has not only been inappropriate - likening the GOP’s pro-economic agenda to a rape scenario - but also downright wrong for America. It’s nothing but a job killing measure and continued failed policy from the Administration that calls for even more spending that Americans and Granite Staters simply cannot afford. The best way to handle the economic reign of terror Obama and Biden have had on this country is by electing a new president in 2012 and we are working extremely hard toward that end.”

“Thumbs down to the coward who hid behind their accusation in the thumbs column. If a lawnmower is too loud and disturbs your dinner on the deck GET OVER IT, really??? Perhaps if you had the courage to speak directly to the individual riding it instead of hiding behind your words the issue might have been resolved. Instead you have many of us wondering” is it me riding that loud mower??” You must be NEW to the neighborhood, and if you are may I suggest you move, soon. We are all friends on this street and wouldn’t hide behind words we would tell our friend, maybe at the next block party or the Christmas party. See we all know and hang with each other on this road. Get a life and grow up!”

“Thumbs up to Jim Rea of the Litchfield

Fire Department and Officer Mike Corl of the Litchfield Police Department for their assistance with the Campbell High Homecoming Bonfire on Friday night.”

“Thumbs up to Haley’s Pizzeria and Rocco’s Pizza for their support and donations to Homecoming and Red Ribbon Week at CHS.”

“Thumbs up to the students of Campbell High

School for their amazing spirit and enthusiasm!” “Thumbs up! To the next years trash contract!!

Try everything it takes to make it easier for people to be responsible recyclers! I’m horrified when I see 2 trash barrels and zero recycling bins at the end of driveways! Not sure why it’s so difficult for some people to recycle. Hopefully this new contract will help!”

“Thumbs down to the Hudson Skate Park. Illegal activity is learned here and sold here. HPD please take notice!”
